Advanced: Rally Obedience

Rally-O is an effective and entertaining way to teach your dog obedience. Rally Obedience is a competition sport made up of dozens of exercises that are useful in everyday life. Exercises are strung into a course of 10 to 20 signs that are different every time and get more and more complex as you advance in your training.  Suited for students interested in competition as well as students who would like to improve their dog’s focus and leash manners (or just have a good time!).

Content: Topics vary by session but may include: competition skills and strategy, any mix of signs from APDT Level 1, 2 & 3 and AKC Novice, Advanced & Excellent, reducing reliance on food reinforcers, advanced attentiveness from dogs, more.

Drive and Motivation for Dog Sports

Is your dog lacking speed in agility? Freezing in the obedience ring? Ears and tail down in the breed ring? We work with handlers to identify stressors, build reinforcers and understand the training and conditioning a dog needs to perform to their potential.

Length: 7 weeks
Cost: $205
Prerequisites: Current vaccination certificate and dog and handler must have some experience with dog sport of choice.

Nosework I & II

Nosework I:  Let your dog sniff their way to success! Nosework teaches your dog to use their natural scenting abilities to find a treat or object and then tell you where it is. Great for ALL dogs, this sport builds confidence, improves relationships and is just plain fun!

Nosework II: More fun for your dogs using their amazing sense of scent!  We will be introducing dogs to scent (birch) in this class.  We continue to challenge the dog's ability to follow their nose and the handlers ability to read their dogs.

Location: Ballston Campus
Length: 7 weeks
Cost: $205
Prerequisites: Current vaccination certificate.  Must have portable crate you can bring to class and dog must be able to crate quietly.

Flyball

Another exciting game you can play with your dog! Flyball is a relay race where two teams of 4 dogs compete. Dogs of all sizes compete, with at least one smaller dog on most teams. Excellent outlet for high energy dogs!
